I’m sure you’d agree with me when I say we live in a time of anti-age epidemic, and while both men and women alike aren’t immune to it, women are particularly affected.
It’s certainly nothing new to care about your looks, women have done it since the dawn of time actually, but it’s never been as bad as it is now with the whole pressure of looking young even when you’re middle-aged, and doing whatever you can to avoid the natural process of ageing.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t pamper ourselves with massages, facial treatments and creams, however, I say we should all embrace our age, for our psychological sake and the sake of future generations. It’s all about the mindset you have and a few other helpful aspects, like finding the comfortable clothing to feel great in your skin.
The last thing you want is to dress up in youth apparel ending up looking much older than you are, so do yourself a favour and treat your closet to some of the incredible pieces of mature women tops, pants, dresses, and skirts perfect for many occasions.
Great news is no, this apparel isn’t what you have in mind, the stereotypical granny oversized baggy apparel, but well designed to show off your glow in your 50s, 60s, so you look as great as you feel.
We would all love to be in our 20s, sure, but let’s face it, our maturity is gained by years of trial and error, so with ageing comes wisdom. You are worried now about the deterioration of your body, focusing on the fine lines and wrinkles, yet can you say you are now more stressed than you were in your 20s? I don’t think so.
A bit of forgetfulness is okay, because hey, the brain’s volume does shrink with ageing, though it’s up to you to do whatever it takes to keep your mind sharp. Other than adding some fresh changes in your wardrobe with mature women tops, and pieces of your choice, invest in stimulating your brain.
It can be something simple as doing crosswords, or going on trips learning new cultures by learning new languages. This way you also get to socialise, have fun and laughter. By all means, work on your self-esteem too, and don’t let the “I’m getting old” fear stop you from enjoying your middle-aged life.
Likewise, be sure to mind what you eat (you’ve probably heard that one by now!), since what makes it on your menu has a say in how fast your skin ages. You might not be able to get rid of the wrinkles, but you can slow down the ageing with food and exercise. While some sweets are acceptable, they shouldn’t replace fruits and veggies.
Feel great about being you, be the example!
